Mr. Kumar, consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, specialises in foot and ankle related problems. His particular expertise is in ligament and tendon reconstruction, total ankle replacements and bunion correction surgery.
Mr. Kumar has a number of teaching roles, he holds Honorary Lecturerships with the Universities of Glasgow, Dundee and Glasgow Caledonian teaching Sports Scientists, physiotherapists, podiatrists and orthopaedic trainee doctors. He is also an examiner for the MRCS and FRCS examinations conducted by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Mr. Kumar runs a fellowship programme at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, training orthopaedic surgeons from around the UK and abroad on advanced techniques in foot and ankle surgery. He has undertaken a number of research projects on various aspects of foot and ankle surgery and published in peer review journals.
