Mr O’Doherty qualified from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1981. I trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal Free Hospital and Sheffield, before receiving Fellowship training in Auckland, New Zealand under Prof Harley Gray. He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust since 1993 and has been the Clinical Director of the Unit for 6 of the last 9 years. In addition to a general trauma practice he manages specialist childrens’ trauma, and complex foot and ankle injuires. His adult elective practice is based in Foot and Ankle surgery, with a high proportion of consultations being referals from other orthopaedic consultants. In addition, he is one of three Childrens’ Orthopaedic Surgeons in Cardiff managing talipes (club foot), lower limb reconstruction and neuromuscular conditions.
