James studied American History at the University of East Anglia, graduating with Bachelor's and Master's degrees, before going on to conduct doctoral research at Clare College, University of Cambridge.
During the course of his time in academia James also studied at the University of Miami in Florida, and Yale University in Connecticut.
Since moving into the field of medical research, James has worked on fetal and neo-natal clinical trials, and is enjoying engaging with the quite different patient populations and challenges in the TARVA trial.
